Automatic Merit Awards and Tuition-Free Systems are what people mean when they talk about a scholarship that “accepts everyone” in 2026. There doesn’t need to be a separate, high-stakes competition for these; if you meet the basic requirements for admission, like having a certain GPA or being from a certain country, the money is guaranteed, or the law says the tuition is free.
This book is your guide to the easiest ways to get funding in 2026 and 2027.
1. Automatic Entrance Scholarships (No Competition)
You don’t need to apply individually for these programmes. As soon as you are accepted into the university, you are “accepted” for the scholarship.
University of York in Canada
- The Deal: Automatic consideration based on your last high school average.
- Values: * 85% or more. Average: $37,500 total ($15,000 in the first year and $7,500 in the second year).
- 80 to 84.9% Total: $25,000, with $10,000 for the first year and $5,000 for the renewal.
- 75–79.9% Average: $5,000 (one time).
- Status for 2026: Accepting applications for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
Global Futures at the University of Manchester (UK)
- The Deal: More than 300 awards just for international students, with a huge number of them going to Nigerian students.
- Undergraduates get £10,000 a year (or £30,000 total), and Master’s students get £18,000.
- You must have an offer from the university. The deadline to receive your offer for the 2026 intake is April 23, 2026.
2. Countries with no tuition (guaranteed “scholarship”)
These nations regard education as a collective benefit. You don’t “win” a scholarship; the state provides you free tuition as a right to enrol.
- Germany (Public Colleges):
- The Deal: No tuition for anyone from any country (except in Baden-Württemberg).
- The Catch: To get your visa, you need to show a Blocked Account with €11,904, but there is no competition for funding for the education itself.
- Iceland (Public Colleges):
- The deal is that no student, regardless of where they are from, has to pay tuition.
- The Fee: A small yearly registration fee of about ISK 75,000 (about $550).
- Czech Republic (Programmes in the Czech Language):
- The deal: If you study in Czech, it’s free for everyone.
- Strategy: Many students take a “Foundation Year” to learn the language. Thereafter, they can go to college for free for 3–4 years without having to compete for scholarships.
3. Not a lot of competition “Niche” Awards for 2026 and 2027
These scholarships are “low competition” because they have very strict eligibility rules that keep 99% of other applicants from getting them.
Rehoboth Dream Solid Foundation in Nigeria
- Target: Nigerian public tertiary institutions’ brilliant but financially disadvantaged students.
- Value: Full support for books, housing, and tuition.
- Due date: April 30, 2026.
- Why there isn’t much competition: Only Nigerians in public schools who can show they need the money can apply.
MPOWER Global Citizen (USA and Canada)
- Goal: International students (including Nigerians) who go to one of our 400+ partner schools.
- The deal is that they only work with students who can’t find a co-signer or sponsor.
- Status: Applications are open until 2026. Because it is a private loan-linked scholarship, the “competition” is based on how much money you could make in the future in your field of study (STEM, MBA, or healthcare).
4. 2026 “Monthly Draws Without Essays”
These are the only real “zero effort” scholarships, even though they are smaller. For students, they are basically lotteries.
- $50,000 draw for the Bold.org No-Essay Scholarship. The next due date is April 27, 2026.
- Sallie Mae gives away $2,000 every month to a student who signs up on their website.
Final Thoughts
Germany (for free tuition) or York University (if your grades are 75% or higher) is the closest thing to a “guaranteed” scholarship for high content. Manchester’s Global Futures Scholarship aims to assist numerous African students in obtaining UK degrees in 2026.
