It’s Thursday, April 30, 2026. Hours away, there are several high-stakes global and local scholarship windows closing for the upcoming academic year, and others are hitting their peak mid-cycle windows.

Here are the scholarships available now and active, listed by their last submission date.

GREAT Scholarships 2026 – Nigeria

Deadline: Midnight tonight April 30, 2026 (UK Time) This is the last chance for holders of Nigerian passports to get £10,000 tuition support for one-year postgraduate courses in the UK. Institutions like the University of Southampton and the University of Edinburgh require you to have an admission offer and submit your scholarship form by the end of today.

Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Programme (Window 2)

Submission deadline: 29 May 2026 This is a life-changing “full ride” opportunity for professionals from developing countries with 3+ years of development-related work experience.

  • Benefits include full tuition, health insurance, a monthly living allowance and round-trip airfare.
  • Requirement: Must have an unconditional offer (except for funding) for a master’s programme at a participating institution outside your home country.

PTDF In-Country Scholarship 2026/2027 Award

Submission deadline: June 5, 2026 The Petroleum Technology Development Fund portal is now open for Nigerian students of public universities who are studying oil- and gas-related courses.

  • Undergraduate: Open to 200 level (minimum 2.4/5.0 CGPA)
  • Postgraduates: MSc & PhD students are welcome.
  • Pro Tip: ensure your NIN (National Identity Number) is verified before final submission.

Makerere University Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme

Deadline: 5 June 2026 (11:59 PM EAT) This is a complete “Success Package” which covers tuition, a laptop, accommodation, stipends and medical insurance for the 2026/2027 session.

  • Target: High-potential African youth (undergraduate and master’s) facing financial barriers.
  • Priority Groups: 70% of awards will go to women, 25% to refugees/IDPs and 10% to persoindividuals disabilities.
  • Action: You must first seek private sponsorship admission at Makerere University to qualify.

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Scholarships

Deadline: 30 June 2026 The Federal Ministry of Education has disclosed that CUI is inviting applications from qualified Nigerians for the 2026 scholarship session. This is a remarkable opportunity for students who want to study in Pakistan in technical and scientific fields.
